Mark Lesney, editor of Thoracic Surgery News and Vascular Specialist, was a science writer and editor for 7 years at the American Chemical Society for Today's Chemist at Work and Modern Drug Discovery magazines. He has been an assistant professor of biotechnology at the University of Florida and an adjunct in the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, and in the Georgetown University Biotechnology Program. He earned an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Botany & Plant Pathology from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in the history of science from the University of Florida.
